中文摘要 在使用肉毒桿菌素使肌肉功能下降後,觀察其周圍骨頭的生長,發現其生長顯著減緩,顯示肌肉的功能強弱對於骨骼生長是有相當大的影響。應用在臨床上,在咬肌力量大,甚至有磨牙或咬牙習慣的病人,這類的病人常因咬合力大,咀嚼肌肥厚而影響臉形和骨骼形態及結構,進而影響矯正的過程。
英文摘要 The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of reduced masticatory muscle activity on the craniofacial bone of growing rats. In this study, Botulinum Neurotoxin type A (BTX-A) was injected to reduce adult rats’ masticatory muscle function and the changes of craniofacial bone structure is investigated.According to the results, reduced masticatory function in the growing rats affects not only the weight of muscle, but also the craniofacial bony structure, dental pattern and the internal bony structure.
